I invite voters in Amherst, Pelham and Granby to join me in supporting Sarah la Cour for state rep in the Sept. 8 Democratic primary.
Sarah has the depth and breadth of experience and the temperament needed to do this important work. For example, she was instrumental in the negotiations that created the Paul C. Jones Working Forest Project in Western Massachusetts, a conservation arrangement that created the largest contiguous, privately owned block of permanently conserved forest land in the Commonwealth.
Sarah worked with very different people and organizations to achieve this remarkable result — exactly the kind of skill and approach that we need in our Statehouse.
Sarah is also sensible about helping the small businesses that make our region so vibrant. I have seen first-hand how effective she is as leader of the Amherst Business Improvement District. Sarah is a good listener and a strategic thinker. Plus, she has a sense of humor. She goes quietly about getting things done.
