Amherst

Bank of America representatives reported finding a skimming device used to steal bank account information at its ATM, 195 University Drive, at 12:19 p.m. Tuesday. The device was removed before an officer arrived and any investigation will be handled by the bank, police said.

Two youths who left the CVS Pharmacy, 76 North Pleasant St., without paying for candy and soda at 10:01 a.m. Tuesday were found and returned the items. Both will be issued trespass notices by management of the pharmacy.

Police took a report at 4 p.m. Monday that two men were loitering inside the Amherst Farmers Supply, 320 South Pleasant St., for more than an hour, taking photographs but not making purchases. They left in a vehicle before police got there and have not yet been identified.

A black bear weighing between 500 and 600 pounds that got into a Colonial Court yard at 3:27 p.m. Monday to eat from a bird feeder made its way back into the nearby woods before Environmental Police arrived.

Easthampton

 Ozgur Ercan, 41, of Holyoke, was arrested on warrant after a traffic stop on Union Street at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Northampton

Cody W. Jobst, 23, of Ashfield, was arrested on charges of speeding and operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol when police made a traffic stop at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday on Mount Tom Road. Police said Jobst also failed field sobriety tests.

Madeline Rodriguez, 34, of Springfield, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday on charges of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, using a phone while driving and failing to stop at a red light. Police pulled over Rodriguez’s car after she illegally turned right on a red light and after she was observed looking down at her phone. The officer noted that Rodriguez had slurred speech, and that she failed field sobriety tests. And police said that Rodriguez told the officer she also attempted to use her phone while she was driving.
