NONVERBAL COMMUNICATION – Wednesdays, noon to 1:30 p.m. starting next week. Taught by Professor Douglas Raybeck, this couse is a study of the subtle social structuring underlying social interaction. Free, must pre-register.

MUSICAL SHOWCASE – Friday, 1:30 p.m. “Skylarkz” (Pianist Nick Kachulis and Vocalist Sarah Clay) present their “Great American Masters of Song” program featuring music in a variety of styles including jazz and classic 20th century American songs by George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart and more.

SONGBIRDS – Naturalist John Root will explain how to attract songbirds to your property, and share photographs and recordings  April 29, at 1 p.m. Learn how to recognize songbirds by their songs and calls and discover intriguing facts about their behavior. 

BRIDGEWednesdays, noon to 4 p.m.

NAME THAT TUNE — Sing-along with Steve is held the first and third Mondays of the month from 11 to 11:45 a.m. in the large activity room. April 25 will feature the music of The Beatles.

BLOOD PRESSURE CLINICS —Tuesdays, 9 to 10 a.m. in the Garrabrants room. Free. Appointments not needed.

EVENING MOVIE – The center will be showing one new release movie a month. “Spotlight” will be shown Thursday at 6 p.m. Feel free to bring your own movie snack.

MAHJONG – Join in the fun and learn the game of Mah-Jong, Wednesdays at 1 pm. Mahjong is very similar to Rummy and is played with tiles.

EASTER BONNET CONTEST Please bring a photo of yourself wearing your bonnet in an envelope to the Enrichment Center with your name written on it. We will display the photos through April and draw one name to win a gourmet candy basket on May 1.

If you don’t have a photo of yourself, make your own bonnet and wear it to the Enrichment Center. We will take your photo here and post it along with the others for a chance to win.

SENIORS BRUNCH–Join the Helping Hand Society for its annual catered breakfast Sunday  from 9:30 to 11 a.m, including juice, fruit cup, scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries and homemade pastries. Reservations not necessary.

BRAIN HEALTH WORKSHOP — Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A presentation on how nutrition, exercise and other brain- healthy habits can reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s, MCI, and other neurodegenerative diseases. A brain healthy luncheon will be provided. Limited to 50 participants. Easthampton 60+ has a priority, with suggested $10 donation. Cost for out-of-town residents and under 60 is $25, payable in advance. Call for further information.

TRANQUILITY ROOM —Fridays by appointment. Includes bio-mat heat therapy, mindful books on our E-reader, head phones and music. Come relax and soak in the quiet. Call to pre-register.

FUNDRAISER – The Family Jewels of Northampton will be at the center on Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. to buy your gold and silver jewelry, coins, or estate jewelry. This is a fundraiser sponsored by the Friends of Hadley COA, and The Family Jewels.
