Lydia Wallace Barrett, 20, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, was arrested at 11:06 a.m. Friday at Big Y Supermarket, 175 University Drive, on a charge of shoplifting after police said she left the store without paying for $98 in merchandise.
A 55-year-old Amherst woman will be summoned to court on a charge of assault after she allegedly entered a neighbor’s home at Southpoint Apartments, 266 East Hadley Road, and charged at the woman living there at 8:08 a.m. Friday, police said. The incident occurred as part of a continuing frustration about children making noise at the apartment and possible use of marijuana by the neighbor, according to police.
Michael C. Zaikowski, 52, of 30 Brierwood Drive in Florence, was arrested at 11:55 p.m. Saturday after a motor vehicle stop on Holyoke Street on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol and a marked lanes violation.
Timothy M. Sharrow, 31, of 34 Brook St., was arrested at 7:13 p.m. Saturday at that address on charges of violating an abuse prevention order, possession of a Class A drug (heroin) and possession of a Class C drug (clonazepam).
Spencer L. Passman, 26, of 167 Pleasant St., was arrested at 12:49 p.m. Saturday after a traffic stop on Pleasant Street on charges of operating while under the influence of alcohol, having an unregistered motor vehicle, having an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding.
A 30-year-old Easthampton woman will be summoned to court on several motor vehicle charges after she allegedly struck a parked car on Cottage Street at 11:57 p.m. Friday. She was transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton for treatment of minor injuries. Police said she faces charges of operating while under the influence of alcohol, a marked lanes violation, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, failure to wear a seat belt, speeding and failing to notify the Registry of Motor Vehicles about a name or address change.
Police confiscated marijuana from a Brook Street resident’s car at 11:06 p.m. Friday after he called police because his car alarm was sounding and the door was ajar. Nothing appeared to be stolen. Officers confiscated the marijuana, which was less than one ounce, and did not issue a citation.
David E. Harrison, 56, of 246 Main St. Apt. 7, was arrested on a warrant at that address at 8:29 p.m. Friday.
An Arthur Street resident reported that a debit card and about $20 in loose change was stolen from his car at 4:13 p.m. Friday. The car was unlocked and parked in his driveway.
