EXTRA LONESOME
Lonesome Brother Jim Armenti is likely to need a little company — he’s gone solo. His third solo CD, “The Poetry of Longing,” sees its official release Tuesday. You can, however, keep Armenti from feeling too much of the lonesome Saturday. That’s when he supplies his Telecaster-toting talents to the rest of the Lonesome Brothers, Ray Mason and Keith Levreault. It happens at 8:30 p.m. at the Florence VFW, 18 Meadow St., Florence, (413) 584-8006.
ANOTHER GOOD BET
This Thursday at 7 p.m., a stellar lineup of performances by Avery Sharpe, Eshu Bumpus, Art Steele, The New Africa House Ensemble and others offers tribute to UMass professor John Bracey, who’s taught in the W.E.B. Du Bois Department of Afro-American Studies since 1972. Augusta Savage Gallery, UMass Amherst, 545-5177.
