Johann Becker, a junior at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I., has been awarded the Ernest F. Hollings Scholarship from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The award provides students with $19,000 toward tuition in their final two years of undergraduate study plus a paid summer internship at a NOAA lab anywhere in the country.
Becker is pursuing a double major in marine biology and ocean engineering.
Samantha Pion received New England Hockey Conference All-Academic honors at Castleton University in Castleton, Vermont.
Derek Sturtevant has recently graduated from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, with a doctorate degree in optometry, with distinction.
