Two men allegedly damaging street signs were reported on Kendrick Place at 12:12 a.m. Friday. Police responded to the downtown street and discovered the sign and sign post for Kendrick were missing, but no suspects were in the area. The Department of Public Works was notified.

Mabvuto K. Tsonga, 39, who listed an address as the streets of Amherst, was arrested at 9:04 p.m. Thursday at the Craig’s Place homeless shelter, 434 North Pleasant St., on three warrants issued by Lowell District Court.

Police are investigating the attempted theft of merchandise valued at “several hundred dollars” from the CVS Pharmacy, 165 University Drive, reported by management at 8:38 p.m. Monday. The male suspect fled before police arrived.

Easthampton

A 47-year-old city man will be summoned to court on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended or revoked license (subsequent offense) after a traffic stop on Franklin Street at 1:47 p.m. Monday.
