South Hadley’s Trevor Sullivan set a new school record during the New Balance Nationals Outdoor meet in Philadelphia on Friday.

Sullivan competed in the freshman 2-mile race and ran to a sixth-place finish in 9:30.19, setting a new personal-best in the process.

Sullivan finished about seven seconds behind Fisher Carroll of Wisconsin, who won the 2-mile race in 9:23.43.

Cyrus Arwade and Agho Mankin cracked doubles for the ‘Canes.

Amherst 17, Frontier 3 — Cyrus Arwade, Garrett Peltier and Agho Mankin energized the Hurricanes on offense in the six-inning victory at Herlihy Field on Tuesday

Arwade mashed a triple, while Peltier and Mankin concluded with three hits each.

Nick Stinson took the win on the mound for Amherst, giving up just one run in five innings.
