It has been a long, cool spring — but not this cold.
The other day, though I wasn’t buying ice cream, I passed the freezer case door at Cooper’s Corner in Florence and couldn’t help but notice this crystalline pattern on the glass. Because the moisture is trapped between the double panes of the door, the shape periodically expands and contracts but doesn’t seemed destined to fade. And now there’s an even larger version on the next door over. Maybe this July, when I do have a stronger craving for a cold dessert, I’ll still be able to find this refreshing window into winter. Pun intended, I’m afraid.
