Donald Trump doesn’t even have to make sense when he talks. His followers are just happy he talks in simple sentences filled with fiery rhetoric and bulldozes political correctness. Who cares if he insults and parades prejudice. What’s the big deal if he puts his bully tactics on a pedestal?
The failed presidency of President Barack Obama and the weak leadership of Mitch McConnell, the Senate majority leader, has prompted action from the crowd on the sidelines. The very people who would never go to a Republican town committee meeting, or would forgo signature drives to get a candidate on a ballot.
The very people who would leave the “grunt work” for others, but would be at the finish line to bask in the glory. Trump and his supporters can claim victory. It’s a hollow victory because the press gave him ample opportunity. B
ut when faced against the onslaught of the Democratic National Committee, his tactics will be minimized. His inability to offer a vision, a definitive plan, and lack of organizational prowess will be on the line.
Trump can claim to be presidential, as we all know he’s a legend in his own mind.
