On behalf of the board of directors of the Northampton Community Arts Trust, we want to express our deep thanks to Smith College for the generous contribution of $100,000 to our campaign for 33 Hawley St.
With this substantial gift, Smith demonstrates that it understands both the need for affordable space for the arts in downtown Northampton and that an exciting arts facility fuels our economy by drawing thousands of people annually into the center of our community.
Smith thus joins the Arts Trust in working to maintain and enhance a healthy, vibrant and artistic downtown, a magnet for residents and visitors from near and far. We greatly appreciate Smith’s investment in 33 Hawley St. and in the community as a whole.
