The Amherst Regional baseball team closed its season with a bang Saturday, rallying to beat playoff-bound Northampton, 2-1, in a walk-off in Amherst.

Will Budington (two hits) and Keegan Madden each had an RBI in the seventh inning for the Hurricanes (6-14).

Jake Balderston, Rohan Mody (run) and Max Hopley each had one hit in the win.

Trevor Edwards (run scored) earned the win in relief, tossing one inning and allowing one hit.

Nathan Masteralexis struck out seven, walked two and allowed one earned run on seven hits in the no decision.

Tim Horton, Joe Pion and Andrew Serio each had two hits for the Blue Devils (13-7). Devin Kellogg and Will O’Connor each had one.

Andy Grygorcewicz struck out seven, walked three and allowed two earned runs on four hits in 6 innings for the loss.

It was the final game for Amherst seniors Saul Ayala, Tosh Foerster, Madden, Mody and Jason Papakonstantinou.

Softball

Minnechaug 8, Amherst Regional 0 — Aliya Bartmon struck out 10 Friday night as the Hurricanes (2-18, 0-8 Valley League) closed their season with the loss.

Bartmon finished the season with 250 strikeouts.
