HOLYOKE – An 18-year-old Haydenville woman was taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield with possible injuries after the car she was driving veered off the highway and flipped over Saturday morning, according to Massachusetts State Police.
The accident occurred at around 8 a.m. and shut down the two left lanes on I-91 north in Holyoke near the Easthampton line. The woman was driving alone in a Nissan Altima, State Trooper Paul Sullivan said.
Holyoke emergency workers responded to the scene and transported the woman by ambulance to the hospital. The closed lanes were reopened to traffic at around 8:50 a.m. and the cause of accident remains under investigation, Sullivan said.
