The Northampton Police Department has reported a phone scam affecting National Grid customers.
The caller demands immediate payment on National Grid accounts and may have some of the digits in the account number. The police department reported on its Facebook page that two businesses have been called in such a way.
“We are asking residents and businesses to remain alert and when in doubt contact National Grid directly,” the post read.
