Sam Shelffo hit a double and a triple with three RBIs and two runs scored to help Northampton beat South Hadley 13-2 in Mickey Mantle action Sunday in South Deerfield.
John Carey drove in four runs on three hits for Northampton, while Devontay Edmons scored four times and had two RBIs.
RJ Safron walked twice, scored twice and hit a two-run single.Shelffo also picked up the win on the mound, striking out four while allowing four hits and two walks.
Northampton scored six runs in the fifth inning.
Ben Chevrette drove in one of South Hadley’s runs and scored the other.
Northampton 14, Easthampton 1 (5) — Kevin Banas totaled three hits and four RBIs for Northampton post 28.
Joe Afflitto and Andrew Serio each drove in two runs.
Brandon Zaikowski threw three innings to earn the win for Post 28 (3-1).
Hunter Leveille hit a triple and scored Easthampton’s only run.
Ben Fitzpatrick also had a triple for Easthampton Post 224.
