A security official at a downtown location called police after observing three men walking with bolt-cutters on Lessey and Main streets at 12:16 a.m. Tuesday. Police found the men, determined they had no bolt-cutters in their possession and were walking back to their apartments from a friend’s home.
Steven L. Neill, 36, of 19 Gaugh St., Apt. A, was arrested on Gaugh Street at 9:54 p.m. Saturday on a warrant.
Police responded to a Garfield Avenue home where a young child had been bitten on the face by the family dog. The child was transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. The case was referred to Westfield Animal Control.
Police responded Saturday morning to three reports of thefts from motor vehicles on Garfield Avenue. An iPod, an MP3 player and cash were among the items stolen from the vehicles, all of which were unlocked.
A 26-year-old Easthampton man will be summoned to court on a charge of wanton destruction of property under $250 in connection to a hit-and-run accident on Park Street. The man allegedly ran over street signs that belong to the Williston Northampton School before leaving the scene. The vehicles license plate became unattached and was left at the scene. Police found the man at his home at 1:41 p.m. Saturday.
