The Easthampton 11-12 Little League baseball team moved into a first-place tie in the District 2 Tournament in dramatic fashion Wednesday.
Justin Colpack hit a two-out walk-off grand slam in the sixth inning as Easthampton beat Westfield American, 11-9, at Nonotuck Park.
Both teams are now 3-1 in pool play.
Easthampton led 7-3 entering the fifth, but Westfield scored six runs to take a 9-7 lead.
Will Robbins (3 for 4) opened the sixth with double then Nick Lloyd flied out. Ryan O’Leary (two hits) walked to put runners at first and second.
Otis Follet hit into a fielder’s choice as Robbins made the second out at third. A single by Nick Jolicoeur (3 for 4, three runs) loaded the bases for Colpack (two hits, five RBIs).
Amherst 7, Westfield National 5 — Nate Mills went 3 for 3 to lead Amherst to a win in the 11-12 division.
He hit a home run and had four RBIs to go along with three runs scored. Mills also struck out five in four innings pitched.
Alex Irizarry had two hits and scored a run, while Maxwell Edwards went 2 for 3 with two RBIs.
Pittsfield 9, South Hadley 5 — Drew Foley (three RBIs) and Nehemiah Wilson each had two hits, while Ethan Fleming (triple) and Ryan Kleszczynski (double) each had one in the road loss for Post 260.
Northampton 7, Aldenville 4 — Derek Zewinski hit two doubles for three RBIs in Post 28’s ninth straight win.
Colby Lander and Pat Grygorcewicz also had two hits.
Lander had a double and two RBIs, while Grygorcewicz drove in one run and scored twice.
Ian McNamara picked up the win for Northampton (12-1).
Post 28 hit back-to-back-to-back doubles in a third inning that turned a 3-0 deficit to a 4-3 lead.
Easthampton 4, Southampton 2 — Chelsea Indyk pitched a complete-game one-hitter and went 1 for 2 with a triple and two RBIs to power the Eliminators (4-1) in under-12 Suburban League action.
Selena Negron (hit) had an RBI for Easthampton, while Emma Downer went 2 for 2.
Southampton’s Katie Joyner struck out 12 in the complete game.
Emma Czarniecki went 1 for 2 for Southampton (3-1).
