Northampton jumped out to a six-run lead and held off Amherst late to win 7-4 in Mickey Mantle action at Arcanum Field.
Will Jordan had two hits and an RBI for Hamp. Ryan Long added a hit, two RBIs and a run, while Nick Heafey had two hits and two runs. Ryan Safron earned the win and Sam Shelffo pitched two scoreless innings for the save.
Brett Evans led Amherst with two hits and drove in two runs.
