A contractor reported at 1:03 a.m. Thursday that $400 worth of tools, including drills, chargers and batteries, had been stolen from his truck between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 3 a.m. Wednesday while it was parked in front of a downtown restaurant.
Scott M. Donaghue, 32, of Billerica, was arrested at 10:39 p.m. Wednesday on Pine Street on charges of possession of a Class B drug (Ecstasy) and failure to dim headlights for oncoming traffic.
Police were called to College Street at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday after passers-by saw a man carrying a large knife and entering the Amherst College campus. He was not immediately found, but Amherst College Police later reviewed surveillance footage and determined he was a student who entered a dorm and needed the knife to prepare food.
Dennis P. Staples, 47, of 235 Hendrick St., was arrested at 10:17 p.m. Wednesday after a traffic stop on Northampton Street on charges of operating while under the influence of alcohol and a marked lanes violation.
Police plan to summon to court a 36-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man, both of Easthampton, after the woman allegedly carved an explicit message into her ex-boyfriend’s car. The incident occurred around 5:04 a.m. Sunday on Concord Drive. The woman told police she was mad because her ex-boyfriend cheated on her. The incident remains under investigation and the exact charges are pending.
Jordan C. Emerson, 26, of 35 West St., was arrested at 10:45 p.m. July 8 on a warrant and on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended or revoked license and having no inspection sticker after a traffic stop on Union Street.
A Glendale Grill employee reported to police at 3:45 p.m. July 5 that her car had been stolen from the restaurant parking lot. The car, which was a gift from her now-ex-boyfriend’s father, was taken from the parking lot by the ex-boyfriend. Police determined that the incident was a civil matter rather than criminal.
Bryant C. Bishko, 23, of 99 Strong St., was arrested at 2:56 a.m. July 3 on charges of operating while under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and a marked lanes violation after he allegedly crashed into a guardrail at the intersection of Ferry and East streets.
An Adams Street resident reported to police at 8:59 p.m. June 30 that a 29-inch HDTV delivered by FedEx valued at $120 had been stolen from his front porch. Police said they have no suspects.
The owner of two dogs that were running loose on Route 10 near the post office was cited at 1:40 p.m. June 30 for violating a city ordinance. Each violation is punishable by a fine of no more than $50.
James L. McIntyre, 45, of Florence, was arrested on a warrant about 1 a.m. Wednesday when an officer saw him on Main Street. The warrant issued by Northampton District Court was for failure to appear in court on previous charges.
Shayne Mercier, 26, who lists his address as the streets of Northampton, was arrested on a warrant about 8 p.m. Tuesday when an officer saw him on Main Street. The warrant was for charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to notify the Registry of Motor Vehicles of a name and address change. It was not immediately clear which court issued the warrant.
Police investigated a report of a two men passing $380 worth of counterfeit $20 bills about 6:40 p.m. Sunday at the Wal-Mart on North King Street. There was no description of either of the men available as of Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Trevor J. Skerritt, 34, of Erving, was arrested at 4:44 p.m. Saturday on King Street on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
