AMHERST — A three-hour executive session by the Amherst, Pelham and Amherst-Pelham Regional school committees that began July 13 was rescheduled to continue from Monday to Wednesday night.

But a meeting Monday night that was to have included the public evaluation of Superintendent Maria Geryk, followed by a discussion of the committees’ roles and responsibilities, was canceled.

The Wednesday meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in open session in the Professional Development Center at the Amherst Regional Middle School. The boards are then expected to move into executive session at 6:05 p.m. “to conduct strategy sessions in preparation for negotiations with nonunion personnel or to conduct collective bargaining sessions or contract negotiations with nonunion personnel.”

Regional School Committee Chairwoman Laura Kent informed members about 10 p.m. Sunday that the Monday meeting was off, Amherst School Committee member Vira Douangmany Cage said in an email.

Though nine members from the three committees met for three hours behind closed doors last week, no details have been made public about what was discussed.

That executive session was posted for the same reason given as the one this week.
