Tyrus J. Stinson, 31, of 497 East Pleasant St., Apt. 128, was arrested at 9:49 p.m. Tuesday on Main Street on charges of violating the town’s open container bylaw and possession with intent to distribute a Class D drug (marijuana).
Connor Scott Thornton, 20, of 92 Henry St., was arrested at 4:41 p.m.Tuesday at West Cemetery, 204 Triangle St., on charges of violating the town’s open container bylaw and being a minor in possession of alcohol after police said he disposed of a beer bottle near gravestones.
Kevin Richard Quesnel, 32, who listed his address as the streets of Amherst, was arrested at 2:26 p.m. Tuesday outside the Spring Street Preschool, 64 Spring St., on charges of trespassing and resisting arrest after he returned to the preschool parking lot 13 minutes after being issued a trespass notice from the property, police said. Two mornings in a row, Quesnel was found sleeping at the entrance to the preschool, according to police.
Dillon Brian Reynolds, 25, of 12 Searle Ave., Apt. R, was arrested on a warrant at the Public Safety Complex at 9:32 p.m. Tuesday.
A 29-year-old Westfield man will be summoned to court on charges of attaching wrong plates to a motor vehicle, having an unregistered motor vehicle and having no insurance after being stopped on Pleasant Street at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday.
Timothy W. Beaucage, 32, of Amherst, was arrested at 2:25 a.m. Wednesday on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, driving on an expired registration and a motor-vehicle equipment violation. Police stopped Beaucage near Bridge and Hawley streets when they observed that he was driving with one headlight and had stopped at a green traffic light. Beaucage told the officer he had been drinking. He then failed field sobriety tests, police said.
Jon M. Persson, 68, of South Deerfield, was arrested about 1 a.m. Wednesday on charges of operating while under the influence of liquor, negligent operation and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Police said Persson was driving erratically and that they noticed continuous stop-and-go motions. An officer pulled him over on Easthampton Road and observed a cup with whiskey and Coke. Persson also failed field sobriety tests, police said.
David R. Pacheco, 52, of Springfield, and Pedro U. Rivera, 47, of Indian Orchard, were arrested at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday when the vehicle driven by Rivera was stopped for operating without headlights. After failing field sobriety tests, police said Rivera was charged with operating while under the influence of alcohol , driving with a suspended license, having an open container of alcohol (beer) in a motor vehicle and a lights violation. Pacheco was wanted on two warrants, one issued by Springfield District Court for driving an uninsured motor vehicle, uttering a false document and ID fraud, and the other issued by Greenfield District Court for driving with a suspended license and failure to wear a seatbelt.
Ricky R. Lapointe, 51, who lists his address as the streets of Northampton, was arrested at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of trespassing after there were multiple reports of an intoxicated man sleeping on a bench inside Walter Salvo House, 81 Conz St.
Eugene L. Chartier, 45, of Springfield, was arrested at 11:34 p.m. Monday after he was stopped on Locust Street on a warrant issued by Springfield District Court for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and possessing or using a stolen Registry of Motor Vehicles document. He faces additional charges of driving a vehicle with a suspended registration, police said.
Christopher B. Lynch, 62, who lists his address as the streets of Northampton, was arrested at 11:12 p.m. Monday while sitting on a Main Street bench on a charge of possessing an open container of alcohol on a city street. Police said an officer observed Lynch drink from a paper bag containing a bottle of liquor.
