I was not surprised to see so many people convene and unanimously condemn attorney Tara Ganguly on the Gazette editorial page for actually using her freedom of speech on Twitter.

Furthermore, what business would a newspaper possibly have promoting such an outlandish notion as freedom of speech?

Imagine the audacity of a mayor appointing to a Human Rights Commission someone who recklessly assumed we even had such a thing as freedom of speech.

Freedom of speech is no longer considered a legitimate human “right,” according to Ganguly’s detractors. Apparently taking such exorbitant liberty as to use freedom of speech on the internet – and possibly anywhere else – is also no longer considered to be “politically correct.”

Are these people liberal or what?

It is clear that a complete and thorough trolling of one’s internet history is justified.

Our ruthless purging will ensure that no original thought or authentic human concern will be aired, discussed, or even considered once the undesirables are rooted out.  They will be summarily dismissed from our hallowed halls of righteousness.

This is a brave new world and no stone can be left unturned when it comes to eradicating loose thoughts. Creative use of language will not be tolerated or taken into consideration. All deviating opinions will be purged or “vetted” and effectively silenced.
