The Easthampton girls volleyball team rallied after slow starts in the first two sets to sweep Mahar, 3-0, Friday at home.

The Eagles (1-1) trailed 7-1 in the first set and 3-0 in second, but came back to win 25-20, 25-23, 25-22.

Veronica Hing had five assists and three aces, while Lisa Sikop finished with four kills and three aces.

Sammy Sypek had seven digs and one ace, while Anna Stabile chipped in with three kills.

Belchertown 3, Mahar 0 — Cara McKenzie had seven kills and three blocks as the Orioles posted a 25-9, 30-28, 25-20 victory at home.

Allie Lukas added five aces and three assists

Belchertown trailed 24-20 in the second set when reserve Mel Alibozek sparked the O’s back into the game behind her serving.

Central 3, Smith Vocational 1 — The Vikings (0-2) tied the match with a win in the second set, but the Golden Eagles pulled away, winning 25-13, 18-25, 25-16, 25-5.

Stephanie Start had four aces, three kills and six digs, while Avalon Darby had five assists and seven digs in the loss.

Field hockey

Greenfield 4, Frontier Regional 2 — Olivia Vecellio and Ashley Borkowski each scored as the Red Hawks (1-1) took a 2-1 lead at the break.

But defensive breakdowns allowed the Green Wave to rally in the second half.

Camille Alli had one assist and Skyla Burniske made 16 saves in defeat.
