AMHERST – The town engineer is expecting traffic and delays around Amity Street starting Monday, when construction will resume in front of the Jones Library.

The curb and structure removal will take place from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday and continue through the week, according to a statement from Town Engineer Jason Skeels.

The north sidewalk and adjacent parking stalls on Amity Street will remain fenced off and closed. The Jones Library will remain accessible via the driveway entrance. Pedestrians should use the crosswalks at North Pleasant Street or North Prospect Street, according to the statement.

Questions or concerns about the project can be directed to the Amherst Department of Public Works at 413-259-3050 or publicworks@amherstma.gov.
