FRESH FROM THE FRINGE

Ace guitarist John Sheldon has wowed Valley audiences for years with his licks, and in recent years he’s made his music part of an engaging theater piece, “The Red Guitar,” in which he recalls his early years as a musician, including playing lead guitar with Van Morrison when he was 17. Sheldon got rave reviews last month when he took the show to Scotland’s Fringe Festival, and on Friday he brings it to the Shea Theater in Turners Fall at 8 p.m. $15 at the door, cash only. sheatheater.org.
