SUNDERLAND — The Select Board on Tuesday issued a request for proposals seeking a developer to build a senior housing project at 120 North Main St.
The proposal request comes after the board last week unanimously passed a motion declaring the property surplus, allowing the land to be sold. Residents previously authorized that at a special Town Meeting.
According to the proposal request, the town is seeking “qualified developers for the sale and development of approximately 18 units of rental housing for low and moderate income seniors on approximately 2.8 acres of town-owned land.”
The request goes on the say that “the town intends to sell the property and enter into a land development agreement with the selected developer.”
It also states that an on-site briefing will be held at the town hall at 10 a.m. Oct. 13. The deadline for requests is Nov. 22.
