Megan McCarthy dished out two assists as the Northampton field hockey team beat Smith Academy, 2-1, Thursday in Hatfield.
Anna Kerwood and Hannah Sledzieski scored for Northampton (7-2-2), while Danielle Parent made three saves.
Izzy Duseau found the net for Smith Academy (2-5-2), assisted by Santana Dubois off a corner.
Taeghan Cavanaugh stopped six shots for the Falcons.
Mahar 3, South Hadley 2 — Hannah Menard and Kayla Carlton gave the Tigers (6-3-2) a 2-1 lead at halftime, but the Senators rallied in the second half.
Izzy Patruno had one assist and Brittany Cote made five saves.
East Longmeadow 5, Amherst Regional 1 — Zora Dallmann scored the Hurricanes first goal of the season in a road loss to the Spartans.
Lydia Sullivan made 15 saves for Amherst (0-9).
Gateway Regional 4, Mohawk 0 — Eighth-grader Joel Sakaske recorded the first varsity goal and assist of his career as the Gators (7-3-2) worked the shutout in Buckland.
Evan Lee scored twice, while Franky Tangredi added one goal. Conner Glebocki had two assists and Shane Mastello made three saves.
Gateway is two points away from qualifying for the postseason.
Nothampton 2, Westfield 2 — JD Pruett scored from Nick Capers in the 70th minute as the Blue Devils (4-5-2, 1-0-2 Moriarty) rallied to beat the Bombers (6-2-4, 3-0-1) no the road.
Jameson Miller scored from Ben Gorden-Sniffen and Ian Hutchins made four saves.
Longmeadow 5, Belchertown 0 — The Lancers were too much for the Orioles on the road.
Tanner Clark made nine saves for Belchertown (8-4, 2-1 Churchill).
East Longmeadow 1, Amherst 0 — Tim Felton made four saves in a road loss.
The Hurricanes (5-3-2, 2-1 Smith) put 15 shots on goal.
Amherst Regional 4, Southwick 3 — The Hurricanes jumped out to a 3-1 lead en route to the win at home.
Andrea Morehouse tied the game at 1 for Amherst, while two Sage DeChiara goals gave the team a 3-1 edge.
An own goal in the 68th minute pulled the Rams within 3-2, but DeChiara added a third goal to seal the win.
Anaviah Clemson assisted DeChiara’s second goal with a long throw-in. Reilly Lepak made eight saves in the win.
The Hurricanes (7-1-3, 4-0-1 Central) are one point shy of qualifying for the postseason.
Easthampton 4, Athol 1 — Maddie Grabowski scored twice, while Juli Korza and Andie Hall added single goals as the Eagles (5-5, 3-2 Pioneer North) rolled on the road.
Kasi Marowitz and Lauren Copeland had assists, and Lily Pioli made six saves in the win.
Belchertown 5, Northampton 1 — Kayla Henry added another hat trick to her total in a home win.
Allyson Tatro had a goal and an assist, while Hannah Sugrue dished out two assists for Belchertown (6-0-3).
Elise Pikul also scored, and Lyndsey Fleming added an assist.
Samantha Birks made five saves in the Orioles’ net.
Alexandra Bertuch-Wallace scored the Blue Devils’ goal assisted by Olivia Pruett.
Sydney Lewandowski stopped 15 shots in the Northampton (3-4-4) net.
Granby 2, Frontier Regional 0 — Brooklyn Baran only had to make two saves for the Rams in a shutout at home.
Trystin Burger and Nora Young scored for Granby (9-2-1, 5-0 Pioneer North) while Julia Frappier and Erin Makalchus had assists.
Eliza Desmarais (two saves) and Alexa Boyden (three saves) shared time in net for the Red Hawks (4-6, 1-4 Pioneer North).
Chicopee 2, Hampshire Regional 0 — The offense couldn’t get going for the Raiders in a road loss.
Missy Gagnon made six saves for Hampshire (6-3-1)
Wahconah 3, Easthampton 0 — Samantha Sypek had 15 digs but the Eagles couldn’t stay with the Warriors on the road.
Sierra Raskevitz had four kills and Devney Horne added four kills and five blocks for the Easthampton (3-8).
Set scores were 25-23, 25-13 and 25-21.
Belchertown 3, Ware 0 — Cara McKenzie led the Orioles with five kills, while Allie Lucas added seven assists in a 25-11, 25-17, 25-17 win to qualify for the postseason.
Quinn Roche added three kills for Belchertown (10-3).
