Senior forward Izzie Delario scored with 8.7 seconds to play as the UMass field hockey team beat Davidson, 3-2, at Gladchuk Field on Friday afternoon.
Delario fielded a loose ball in the circle and pushed a shot into the right side of the cage for her eighth goal of the season.
Sarah Hawkshaw added a pair of goals for the Minutewomen (8-6, 4-1 Atlantic 10), including her team-leading ninth of the season.
Lauren McFayden scored to give Davidson (3-12, 1-5) a 1-0 lead.
Hawkshaw responded, gained control of play in the center of the Davidson circle and hammered in a reverse-stick shot only 38 second after McFayden’s tally. The junior forward added her second in the 10th minute as she scored on another attempt from the center of the Wildcats’ circle.
Davidson evened the contest at 2-2 when Katherine English scored inside the left side post.
Emily Hazard made two saves for the Minutewomen.
Middlebury 3, Amherst 1 — Maggie Danner had 13 kills, Kate Bres 20 assists and Hayes Honea 18 digs but Amherst (10-6, 4-3 NESCAC) fell 25-15, 21-25, 25-19, 25-16 on the road.
