The UMass field hockey won its final regular season game, 3-2 over Lock Haven at the Gladchuk Sports Complex on Friday afternoon.
Nicole Miller scored and had one assist, while Anne Dijkstra and Nicole Kuerzi also scored.
The Minutewomen (11-7, 6-2 Atlantic 10) will head into the conference tournament. Lock Haven (9-8, 4-4) heads home.
UMass’ tournament seed is dependent on the outcome of additional Atlantic 10 games this weekend.
Colleen McCabe put Lock Haven in front in the 13th minute on a penalty corner rebound shot. The lead lasted 90 seconds as Dijkstra answered to tie the score.
UMass drew a corner and Dijkstra converted after a blocked shot landed at her stick.
Miller pushed the Minutewomen in front at the 22:21 mark as she finished off a play from the left side with a shot into the center of the Lock Haven cage. Kuerzi added to the advantage with 9:24 to go in the half as the junior forward corralled a pass from Miller and bounced a shot off the back of the cage for her fourth goal of the year.
Lock Haven capped the first half in the 30th minute as Megan Wenrich scored on a pass from McCabe to cut the deficit to 3-2.
Emily Hazard finished with six saves for the win, while Paige Stuppy had 11 to keep the game close for the Bald Eagles.
Amherst 3, Trinity 0 — Maggie Danner had 10 kills, Charlotte Duran added 18 assists and Hayes Honea chipped in with 23 digs as host Amherst (15-8, 6-3 NESCAC) cruised 25-17, 25-17, 25-20.
