AMHERST — Four roads in Amherst Woods will be repaved Monday, while the remaining asphalt on Shumway Street will be removed.
Crews from Warner Brothers LLC of Sunderland will be resurfacing Teaberry Lane, Woodlot Road, Ladyslipper Circle and Larkspur Drive beginning at 6 a.m.
At the same time, the crews will begin removing the remaining pavement on Shumway Street. That road will be stripped and graded, with resurfacing planned on Nov. 16.
During the work on the Amherst Woods roads and Shumway Street, no on-street parking is allowed.
Meanwhile, two projects at the northern end of downtown are continuing, including the Department of Public Work’s installation of an underground conduit at the corner of Triangle and East Pleasant streets that requires periodic road closures and detours, and the installation of concrete sidewalks by Warner Brothers, on the perimeter of Kendrick Park.
With demolition work proceeding on the former Amherst Carriage Shops, which will be rebuilt as the mixed-use One East Pleasant, the sidewalk in front of this property will be closed. Pedestrians are being advised to follow detour signs and use crosswalks, and to not walk in the road.
