Madeline Eck and Ali Doswell each scored 10 points in a 56-30 win for the Amherst College women’s basketball team over Wesleyan, Tuesday in Middletown, Connecticut.

Meredith Doswell added nine rebounds, while Eck had eight for Amherst (3-0).

Granby native Meghan Sullivan played only nine minutes in her third game back from a knee injury that sidelined her for all but nine games last season. Sullivan had two rebounds, one steal and one point.

Elms College 64, Mount Holyoke 48 — Xajaah Williams-Flores had eight points, 11 rebounds and four steals in a road loss for the Lyons.

Kathryn Violette led Mount Holyoke (2-3) with 15 points. Katlyn Grover added 14.

Men’s ice hockey

Amherst 5, St. Michael’s 1 — Patrick Daly and Thomas Lindstrom each scored twice in Amherst’s road win.

Thomas Lindstrom also found the net twice for Amherst (1-0-1).

Jack Fitzgerald chipped in with a third period goal and Giancarlo Ventre made 23 saves.
