NORTHAMPTON — A 23-year-old man was arrested Sunday, accused of drunkenly crashing into a Northampton police cruiser while an officer made a traffic stop.
Police said Keegan Lobrose, of Plainfield, was driving a gray Pontiac on Bridge Street near the Coolidge Bridge when he slammed into the left rear of a police cruiser at 1:45 a.m. Sunday.
The Pontiac flipped onto its side, according to police. Two of the four occupants made it out of the car without help, but police said Northampton Fire Department crews extricated Lobrose and another passenger.
Three people — Lobrose, a passenger and a police officer — were taken to Cooley Dickinson Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to the police report.
Police said they arrested Lobrose for operating under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and obstruction of an emergency vehicle by failing to move over. This is the second time Lobrose has been accused of operating a motor vehicle under the influence.
