The Hofstra women’s basketball team caught fire in the fourth quarter to run away from UMass, 71-55, Wednesday at the Mack Sports Complex in Hempstead, New York.
The Pride used a 25-2 run backed by six 3-pointers to pull away for the win.
Maggie Mulligan had 16 points and 13 rebounds for her eighth straight double-double for the Minutewomen (4-5).
Ryan Holder added 12 points, while Hailey Leidel chipped in with 10.
Springfield 97, Mount Holyoke 31 — Katlyn Grover scored 13 points and Kathryn Violette added 10 but the Lyons (2-6, 0-3 NEWMAC) fell at home.
WPI 57, Smith 50 — Erin Hanley had nine points and Samantha Alakai added eight but the Pioneers (4-3, 1-2 NEWMAC) fell at home.
Norwich 5, Amherst 0 — Sabrina Dobbins made 18 saves but Amherst (1-3-1) fell on the road.
