Friday’s high school boys basketball: Hopkins Academy rolls past Greenfield

The Hopkins Academy boys basketball team pulled away from Greenfield 76-52 on the road Friday.

Sam’i Roe had 30 points and 12 rebounds for the Golden Hawks (3-0). John Earle added 22 with four blocks for Hopkins.

Hopkins made 32 field goals, including 11 3-pointers yet went to the free-throw line twice. Roe was 1-for-2 from the line.

Jon Morrison added 14 points, 12 boards and three blocked shots.

Smith Voke 38, Westfield Tech 34 — The Vikings picked up their first win on the road.

Travis Wolf had 10 points and nine rebounds for Smith Voke (1-2).

Luis Acosta added 12 points.

Southwick 50, Frontier Regional 37 — Ben Lowe (13 points) and Carsten Carey (11 points) both scored in double figures, but the Red Hawks (0-2) lost on the road.

Gateway Regional 45, St. Mary’s 40 — Shane Mastello scored 20 points and grabbed 20 rebounds in a tournament win at Westfield Tech.

Brett Turban scored 19 for the Gators (2-1).

Palmer 63, Belchertown 39 — Nolan Vogel scored 15 points on the road, but the Orioles (0-4) lost their fourth straight game to start the season.
