The Hopkins Academy boys basketball team certainly earned its win over Frontier Regional on Monday.

During a 89-47 win in Hadley, Jon Morrison and Sam’i Roe left the game due to injuries.

Morrison took an elbow in the head, leading to blood everywhere, according to Hopkins Academy coach Angelo Hopkins, while Roe’s eyes were swiped.

“He couldn’t see,” Thomas said.

Roe left the floor a few minutes into the game, but came back to score 21 points with nine rebounds.

Morrison also returned, but closed out his night in an emergency room, according to Thomas.

“He will probably need stitches,” Thomas said.

Hopkins (4-0) hit 14 3-pointers in the game, led by Jon Earle’s four. Earle finished with 18 points.

Ben Lowe led the Red Hawks (0-2) with 17 points.

South Hadley 67, Easthampton 66 — A free throw by Calvin Bridges was the difference in a win for the Tigers on the road against the Eagles.

It was South Hadley’s third straight win.

Bridges had 24 points for South Hadley (3-1). Matt Grochowalski added 14 points while Hunter Carey added 10 points.

Zach Crisafulli scored 28 points for the Eagles. Johnny Bara (12 points) and Ant Moynihan (17 points) also were in double figures for Easthampton (1-2).
