Freshmen Kaeleigh Croteau and Nora Young were more than enough for the Granby girls basketball team in a 62-35 win over Athol on the road Tuesday.

Young had 27 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks, while Croteau had 25 points behind six 3-pointers. Both point totals were career highs.

Mallory Beauregard had seven points, 10 rebounds and six assists for Granby (4-3).

Smith Vocational 47, St. Mary’s 16 — Stephanie Start poured in 27 points and added 17 rebounds as the Vikings (5-4) snapped a two-game losing streak with the rout at home.

Start is 35 points away from 1,000 in her career. The Vikings host Gateway Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Shannon Ryan added 13 rebounds, nine steals, six assists and five points in the win. Sydney Cyr had nine points in the win.

Northampton 65, Chicopee 37 — The Blue Devils (8-1) cruised past the Pacers on the road.

Lauraine Joensen scored 21 points with 17 rebounds. Megan McCarthy also had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Amanda Mieczkowski (six assists) hurt the Pacers from the outside with four 3-pointers for 12 points.

Emma Tanner added 10 points for Hamp.

Hampshire Regional 69, Frontier Regional 25 — The Raiders defense smothered the Red Hawks in a home win.

Katy O’Connor had 20 points while Caroline O’Connor scored 15 for Hampshire (6-2).

Lisa Portier led Frontier with eight points.

Holyoke 66, Amherst Regional 37 — Erin Klaes scored 14 points but the Purple Knights were too much for the Hurricanes at home.

Klaes connected on three 3-pointers for Amherst (1-7).

South Hadley 55, Mahar 50 — The Tigers held off the Senators at home behind 31 points by Sophie Gatzounas.

Mikhaila Edge added 10 points for South Hadley (7-0).

Hopkins Academy 48, Palmer 36 — Allison Kowal-Safron had 16 points with three 3-pointers in a road win for the Golden Hawks.

Allison Jenks notched a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Sam Jenks filled up the stat sheet with 13 points, eight rebounds and eight steals for Hopkins (7-1).

Monson 59, Easthampton 16 — Michelle McDermott scored six points but the Eagles (4-3) lost on the road.

Boys basketball

Sabis 93, Belchertown 58 — Mitch Medina netted 25 points but the Orioles lost to the Bulldogs at home.

Nolan Vogel was also in double-figures for the Orioles (0-8).

Wachusett 61, Amherst Regional 34 — The Hurricanes struggled offensively in the road loss in central Massachusetts.

Meikkel Murray led the Hurricanes with 21 points.
