The Amherst College men’s swimming and diving team beat Connecticut College 165-123 on Saturday.
Eric Wong, Jack Koravos and Craig Smith won two individual events each.
Wong finished first in the 200-yard freestyle (1 minute, 42.92 seconds) and 500 freestyle (4:39.41). Koravos won the 50 freestyle (21.1 seconds) and 100 butterfly (50.67 seconds).
Hadley’s Marc Klepacki, an Amherst Regional grad, was sixth in the 100 butterfly in 53.38 seconds and swam on two relays for the Camels.
Seven Sisters Championship — Smith took second in the team competition with 803 points, while Wellesley won the event at 1,175. Mount Holyoke was fourth with 512.
Smith’s Elly stone was second in the 1-meter diving at 455.95, while Abigail Hanna took third with 442.55. Hanna took second on the 3-meter at 486.6, while Stone toook third with 476.8.
Eliza Cummings took second in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:01.06. Desi Stoyanova was second in the 200 butterfly at 2:14.49 and 1,650 freestyle in 18:17.02.
Smith’s 800-yard freestyle relay team of Cummings, Stoyanova, Haley Markos and Abigail Onos finished second in 8:15.46.
Mount Holyoke’s 200 freestyle relay of Claire Beckett, Emily Craig, Annie Kuenning and Katie Tyler finished second in 1:44.7, and the 200 medley relay of the same group also finished second in 1:56.04.
Kuenning also finished third in the 200 backstroke in 1:16.28.
Amherst 163, Connecticut College 125 — Natalie Rumpelt took first in the 200 freestyle (1:53.17) and 100 freestyle (52.51), and Jackie Palermo won both the 1- and 3-meter diving events in a dual win Saturday.
Amherst 81, Colby 67 — Johnny McCarhy scored 19 points on an efficient 8-of-14 from the field with eight rebounds, and Amherst won its second straight game Saturday.
Jacob Nabatoff added 14 points and nine rebounds, while Jayde Dawson had 13 and David George 10.
Amherst (12-4, 3-2 NESCAC) only shot 38.7 percent from the field but grabbed 12 offensive rebounds and had 16 second-chance points.
Women’s basketball
Babson 108, Mount Holyoke 32 — Belchertown’s Téa Spellacy scored nine points, as the Beavers outpaced the Lyons on Saturday.
Kathryn Violette led Mount Holyoke (2-14, 0-9 NEWMAC) with 11 points.
Clark 59, Smith 51 — Lauren Bondi scored 17 points, but the Pioneers two-game win streak ended Saturday.
Amanda Barriscale led Smith (12-6, 5-4 NEWMAC) with seven rebounds, and Meghan Holland had four assists.
Northampton’s Maya Kerstetter scored five points with three rebounds and three assists for Clark.
Amherst 69, Colby 43 — Madeline Eck led Amherst with 13 points off the bench in a road win Saturday.
Hannah Hackley had 12 points and seven rebounds, while Granby’s Meghan Sullivan chipped in five points, two assists and two blocks.
George Washington 60, UMass 54 (2OT) — Alyx Stiff scored 18 points, but the Minutewomen fell in double overtime Saturday.
Hailey Leidel chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Maggie Mulligan grabbed 12 rebounds for UMass (9-12, 3-5 A-10).
Amherst 10, Assumption 1 — John Festa had a hat trick, and seven Amherst players found the net in a win Saturday.
David White, Patrick Daly, Jack Fitzgerald, Joey Lupo and Stanley Brenner also scored for Amherst (11-3-1).
Will Vosejpka, Auston Hop, Mark Esposito, Phil Johansson, Nicholas Faturos and Tyler Granara all had two assists, while Thomas Lindstrom had one.
Giancarlo Ventre picked up the win in goal with 28 saves.
Amherst 5, Colby 1 — Alex Toupal scored twice with an assist in a road win Saturday.
Sarah Culhane added a goal and an assist for Amherst (9-4-2, 5-3-2 NESCAC).
Katie Savage and Jocelyn Hunyadi also scored, while Caitlyn Ryan and Katelyn Pantera added assists.
Smith Invitational — Amherst finished second with 163 team points, while Assumption won the event with 189.
Maxim Doiron won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.81 seconds. Ralph Skinner finished first in the 1,000-meter run in 2:33.84. David Ingraham was first in the 500-meter run in 1:08.09. Stanley Dunwell won the 200-meter dash in 23.51. Jordan Edwards triple-jumped 13.07 meters to win.
Smith Invitational — Amherst finished second as a team with 127 points, while Smith was seventh with 43 and Mount Holyoke scored 25 to place ninth.
Assumption won the team championship with 152.
Amherst’s Savanna Gornisiewicz took first in the 1-mile run in 5:12.63. Abbey Asare-Bediako won the triple jupm at 11.03 meters. Kiana Herold high-jumped 1.67 meters for a first-place finish. Danielle Griffin was first in the 500-meter dash in 1:23.75.
Smith’s Hannah Stevens was fourth in the 60-meter dash in 8.36 seconds and fourth in the pole vault a 2.9 meters.
The Pioneers’ 4×400-meter relay team of Aviana Kleine, Kim, Du, Stevens and Molly Day took second in 4:20.38.
Mount Holyoke’s Donari Yahzid took third in the long jump at 4.9 meters.
