NORTHAMPTON – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has postponed a public information session about the state’s electronic tolling initiative Monday night because of possible snow in the forecast, according to a press release.

The meeting will now take place on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the MassDOT District 2 Highway Office at 811 N. King Street in Northampton.  Northampton area residents are invited to comment on the process.

Scheduled for discussion are the status of electronic tolling on I-90 and the progress of demolition and reconstruction at toll plaza sites. Phase Two of the project includes improving infrastructure, adding safety features and addressing drainage issues, according to the state agency.

The second phase of construction is under way and is expected to be completed by the end of 2017. Work will continue throughout the winter, as permitted by the weather.

Another public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 7 in Lenox at the District 1 Highway Office at 270 Main St., also at 6:30 p.m.
