The Amherst College women’s basketball team ran its win streak to 20 games with an 85-44 victory over Trinity on Saturday.

Meredith Doswell led Amherst (20-0) with 19 points. Ali Doswell scored 12 points with five assists, and Emma McCarthy scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds.

Granby’s Meghan Sullivan added five points and hit a 3.

Amherst scored 32 points off 20 Trinity turnovers.

Babson 76, Smith 72 — Kennedy Guest-Pritchett scored 16 points and grabbed 19 rebounds with four assists in a road loss Saturday.

Samantha Alakai led the Pioneers (13-6, 5-5 NEWMAC) with 26 points and blocked three shots.

Smith had an 18-7 lead after the first quarter but let the beavers stage a second-half comeback.

Belchertown’s Téa Spellacy played five minutes for the Beavers and grabbed two rebounds.

Wheaton College 70, Mount Holyoke 34 — Kathryn Violette led the Lyons (2-16;0-11 NEWMAC) with 17 points in a home loss Saturday.

VCU 55, UMass 52 — Hailey Leidel led a fourth-quarter rally with 18 points and 10 rebounds, but the Minutewomen fell short Saturday.

Ryan Holder added 12 points, and Maggie Mulligan scored 11.

Leah McDerment dished out four assists for UMass (9-14, 3-7 A-10).

Men’s basketball

Amherst 66, Trinity 53 — Jayde Dawson scored 17 points Saturday, as Amherst won its fourth straight game after a two-game losing streak.

Johnny McCarthy grabbed 11 rebounds and added 11 points.

Michael Riopel scored 10 points off the bench, while Reid Berman added five assists.

Amherst (14-4, 4-2 NESCAC) held Trinity to 32.2 percent shooting from the field and 7.1 percent from the 3-point line.

Men’s ice hockey

Trinity 1, Amherst 1 (OT) — David White scored from Patrick Daily in a tie Saturday.

Connor Girard made 42 saves for Amherst (11-3-3, 6-3-3 NESCAC).

Maine 2, UMass 1 — Jake Horton scored unassisted Saturday in the Minutemen’s seventh straight loss.

Nic Reynard made 20 saves for UMass (5-19-2, 2-11-1 Hockey East).

Women’s ice hockey

Williams 4, Amherst 4 (OT) — Alex Toupal scored twice in a road tie Saturday.

Caitlyn Ryan and Eliza Laycock also found the net.

Jocelyn Hunyadi added two assists, while Jamie McNamara and Annie Maloy also had an assist.

Marissa Anderson made 38 saves for Amherst (9-5-4, 5-3-4 NESCAC).
