The Belchertown girls basketball team bounced back from a loss on Monday to defeat Amherst Regional, 60-36, at home Tuesday.

Kayla Henry led the Orioles (14-3, 3-2 Suburban) with 25 points and tallied seven steals.

Elise Pikul scored a career-high nine points and played strong defense against Amherst’s Erin Klaes, who was held to eight free throws.

Cara McKenzie earned a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, to go with four blocks.

Boys basketball

Hopkins Academy 80, Greenfield 55 — John Earle hit three 3-pointers and scored 17 points in the Golden Hawks’ ninth win in a row.

Sam’i Roe also scored 17 points to go along with 10 rebounds and nine assists.

Roe held Greenfield’s Kevin Mendez to 10 points.

Justin Ciaglo had 15 points with three 3s, and Jon Morrison scored 12 for Hopkins (16-1, 13-0 Hampshire).

Westfield 69, Northampton 56 — Elijah Davis had 20 points but the Blue Devils (12-5, 4-3 Valley Wheel) fell on the road.

The Bombers (8-9, 4-3) inched closer to a postseason berth.

Franklin Tech 54, Gateway 39 — The Gators could not rebound from an 11-point deficit after the first quarter, falling to the Eagles at home.

Shane Mastello scored a game-high 27 points and hauled in 19 rebounds for the Gators (4-10).

McCann Tech 64, Smith Voke 51 —– Jayvon Cordova (14 points) and Luis Acosta (13 points) were both in double figures, but the Vikings lost at home.

Travis Wolf and Dakota Blakesley added 10 points for Smith Voke (3-13).

Smith Academy 80, Athol 65 — A strong start and a 17-point halftime lead carried the Falcons to a road win over the Red Raiders

Jack Zigmont scored a team-high 26 points to go with seven rebounds and five steals for the Falcons (2-15).

Brett Gratz collected a team-high eight rebounds along with 15 points.

Palmer 71, Hampshire 42 — The Raiders trailed by just four at halftime before being outscored 38-13 in the second half.

Jacob Bihler led Hampshire (10-6, 7-4 Bi-County) with 12 points.

Greg Laroche added 11 points.

Granby 73, Ware 38 — Zach Gorham dropped 20 points and picked up nine rebounds for the Rams (10-7, 6-6) in a Bi-County win over the Indians at home.

Noah Bleakley added 12, while Joe Bessette scored 14 points for the Rams.

South Hadley 59 , Ludlow 39 — Calvin Bridge’s 13 points paced the Tigers (8-10) in a road win.

Chicopee Comp 60, Belchertown 41 — Mitch Medina scored 15 points in the road loss for the Orioles (0-16).
