Madison Philbrook hit a two-run double in the sixth, but the Hampshire Regional softball team lost 7-2 to Minnechaug, in Wilbraham Friday.

Katy O’Connor went 2-for-3 and scored a run.

Hampshire (5-3) allowed three runs in the fifth and sixth innings.

It’s the third straight loss for the two-time state Division 2 champions.

“I told ‘em it’s a marathon, not a sprint,” Hampshire coach Brian McGan said. “We’ll work it out.”

Granby 8, Pope Francis 1 — Kate Sullivan went 2-for-4 with two triples, and Mallory Beauregard had a triple and two RBI’s in a road win for the Rams.

Lindsey Wenzel pitched seven innings and allowed one run on three hits, nine walks and four strikeouts.

Monson 17, Gateway Regional 2 (5) — Ava Auclair and Emily Warren each singled but the Gators (1-7) fell at home.

East Longmeadow 12, Belchertown 0 (5) — The game was scoreless until a 12-run fifth by the Spartans led to the home loss for the Orioles.

Lauren LeBlanc and Samantha Mann had hits for Belchertown (1-7)

Westfield 5, South Hadley 1 — Abby Edge had two hits, including a double, and scored the Tigers’ run.

Sarah Bisson also added two hits, while Mikhaila Edge and Hayley Schaeffer had one each for South Hadley (0-7).

Mahar 17, Smith Vocational 5 — Avalon Darby was 2-for-4 with a two-run triple in the third inning for the Vikings.

Allie Kowalczyk had two hits and scored a run. Serenity Roznovsky added a two-run single.

Southwick 5, Easthampton 0 — The Eagles were held to two hits on the road in their first loss.

Samantha Sypek and Olivia Downer both singled for Easthampton (5-1).

Chicopee Comp 17, Amherst Regional 4 — Mikah McNamara had two hits and an RBI for Amherst (0-5).
