Anna Kerwood went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, as the Northampton softball team beat West Springfield, 8-6, to qualify for the postseason, Thursday.
Northampton (10-1) scored two runs in the fifth inning to break a 6-6 tie.
Zoe Driscoll-Sbarr added two hits and two RBIs, while Abby Pelis went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
Anna Connly and Emelia Pelis both had hits.
Athol 12, Frontier Regional 9 — Maddie Fifield hit a solo homer in her first varsity game for the host Red Hawks.
Lexa Boyden had three hits with two RBIs, while Kelsey Jarvis added two hits, including a double, with three RBIs for Frontier (3-5).
Minnechaug 23, Amherst 0 — Egeria Koehn-Cooper had the lone hit for the Hurricanes (1-7) in a home loss to undefeated Falcons.
Hopkins Academy 28, Smith Vocational 16 — Maegan Quinlan went 4-for-6 with a double and a triple and eight RBIs in a road win.
Macy Ring hit a home run and had five hits, while Kelsea Cristoforo went 5-for-5 with seven RBIs for Hopkins (3-7).
McCann Tech 12, Gateway 0 — Dayna Britland had the only hit for the Gators (1-11, 0-6 Bi-County West) in a road loss.
Williston 1, Ethel Walker 0 — Jordan Strum had two hits and the game-winning RBI for the Wildcats (5-2).
South Hadley 20, Belchertown 4 — Julia Miele tallied three goals and three assists for the Tigers (3-6). Sarah Lacey and Marley Medina had two goals and two assists each, while Briana Couture found the net three times.
Bridget Sears added a goal and an assist, while Hanna Kopec made seven saves for South Hadley.
Lauren Pope, Katie Hislop, Elise Pikul and Morgan Mathusin all scored for Belchertown (0-10).
Emily Sayball-Wimmer made 21 saves.

Longmeadow 11, Northampton 3 — Tyler Allcroft had two goals for the Blue Devils, while Henry Higgins with a goal and an assist.
Ryan Heng made 14 saves for the Blue Devils.
The Blue Devils (9-2) trailed 2-1 after the first half, but the Lancers pulled away, outscoring Northampton 7-1 in the third.
