Northampton’s Caitlyn Richmond adjusted from a tennis racket to a golf club quickly to extend her spring season.
She qualified for the girls golf state tournament by finishing 11th in the after shooting an 86 on Tuesday at the North/West/Central tournament at Gardner Municipal Golf Course.
Richmond was playing No. 1 singles for the Blue Devils’ tennis team, but Northampton didn’t qualify for the postseason.
Concord Carlisle’s Gabrielle Shieh shot an even-par 75 to take first.
The state championships will be June 5 at Heritage Country Club in Charlton.
