The Northampton Post 28 baseball team scored all six of its runs with two outs spread out over five innings and held off Pittsfield, the defending Western Massachusetts American Legion champion, 6-2, at Clapp Park on Thursday.
Ian Ostberg led Hamp with three hits, including a third inning solo homer. Ostberg scored three times for Post 28 (7-1).
Derek Zewinski added two hits and drove in three runs
Westfield 12, Easthampton 3 — Aidan Burke’s bases-loaded double highlighted a three-run second inning as Easthampton Post 224 took an early 3-1 lead at Daley Field.
But Westfield pulled away with a six-run fourth.
South Hadley 3, Wilbraham 2 — Ethan Fleming pitched seven innings for Post 260 in the road win, striking out five while allowing two earned runs.
Fleming (run), Jason French (RBI), and James Foley each had one hit.
Southampton 11, Westfield 2 — John Carey (two runs) and Garrett Antosz (two RBIs) each had two hits as Southampton won in pool play of the District 2 Tournament Senior Division.
Southampton scored six runs in the sixth to pull away.
