Madison Rodriguez was named to the spring semester dean’s list at Regis University in Weston, where she is a member of the class of 2020.

Belchertown

Mikaela Cormier and Stephanie Zajac were named to the spring semester dean’s list at Morrisville State College in Morrisville, New York.

Cadet 1st Class Stephen Michael Owczarski graduated with a degree in marine engineering from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay.

Mikayla Weigel placed first among her teammates on the University of New Hampshire Woodsmen Team for the second consecutive year, earning the right to compete in the Stihl Timbersports Northeast Championship.

The competition consisted of three events, Underhand Chop, Stock Saw and Single Buck. In the Single Buck event, UNH alum and current Single Buck World Champion Kendall Kunelius worked the wedge for Mikayla.

Easthampton

Cassandra Golob was named to the spring semester dean’s list at Regis University in Weston, where she is a member of the class of 2017.

Florence

Lauren Kate Kennedy has been named to the spring semester dean’s list at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, where she is a rising junior economics and international studies major. A graduate of Northampton High School, she is the daughter of Mark and Mary Jo Kennedy.

Anna Martin Ross graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social work from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland.

Benjamin Cooper graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, where he majored in religion and classics and was named to the spring semester dean’s list. A graduate of Northampton High School, he is the son of Richard Cooper and Catherine Kay.

Hadley

Katie Erin Keegan graduated from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland, where she was also named to the spring semester high honors dean’s list. Keegan graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and was the recipient of The Greek Woman of the Year award.

Michael E Mieczkowski, a graduate of Williston Northampton School, will attend Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, as a member of the class of 2021. Mieczkowski will be majoring in engineering studies.

Northampton

Timothy Girouard took a Bronze medal, placing third in the country, at a national plumbing competition sponsored by SkillsUSA in Louisville, Kentucky. Girouard is a student at Smith Vocational High School.

Katie Sperry, a senior, was elected to the Sigma Xi honor society at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. Election to the national honor society indicates that a student has demonstrated evidence of research potential in a field of pure or applied science.

Marlena Candelario Romero,a student in Ithaca College’s School of Humanities and Sciences, Ithaca, New York, is conducting research on “Voices of Motherhood” as part of the summer scholars program there.

Cecilia Hoff was inducted into the Tau Sigma National Honor Society at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. Hoff is studying culture and communication.

Pelham

Anna Tarren, a student at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York majoring in biochemistry, gave a presentation at the 2017 National Conference on Undergraduate Research at the University of Memphis in Tennessee.

Plainfield

Coleman Lynds was inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society at Emmanuel College in Boston.

Shutesbury

Colleen Glidden was inducted into Phi Sigma Tau International Honor Society at Assumption College, Worcester. Glidden is a member of the class of 2019 and a student in the philosophy department.

South Deerfield

Kimberly Logan was inducted into the Mortar Board National Honor Society at Western New England University, Springfield. Logan is majoring in finance.

South Hadley

Kathryn Chevalier was initiated into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society at the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
