Thank you for the great coverage and the prominence you gave to our Fitting For The Future event and to the kids in foster care who benefit from it (“Fitting foster kids for their future,” April 9).
I started HelpOurKids to provide to kids in foster care the things that would make them feel more like other kids. We provide sporting equipment, music lessons, art supplies, a college tour, book bundles, duffle bags and a lot more.
Fitting For The Future grew out of this because I became aware that many kids in foster care had no access to clothing for special events such as prom, graduation, sports banquets and job interviews.
While Fitting For The Future is our biggest event, we work to make the lives of kids in foster care better all year. There are several ways that people can help by going to our website, www.helpourkidsinc.org, and making a financial contribution, joining our network and donating needed items for our programs.
