Long-range plan needed to address potholes in city

June is just a few days away and we are still dodging potholes on several roads in Northampton.

There are holes on Trumbull Road, Ryan Road near the old gravel pit, Cardinal Way and Westwood Terrace, just to name a few. There are a number of roads that have been patched, however, some are nearly as bad as before the repairs.

Spring Street is in very bad condition and it was completely rebuilt in recent years, as was Hatfield Street. Pine Street and Burts Pit Road are in dreadful condition, as well as many others.

It seems the city needs to develop a comprehensive, long-range plan to solve this serious annual problem.
