The UMass women’s soccer team beat Delaware, 3-0, in a nonconference match on the road, Sunday.

Jenna Thomas, Erin Doster and Lauren Bonavita each scored for the Minutewomen (3-2-0).

Signe Schioldan and Sarah Beaulieu each had one assist. Peyton Ryan (three saves) and Alyssa Chase (no saves) shared the shutout.

Mount Holyoke 2, Simmons 1 — Avia Jacobs netted the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 85th minute, while Dale Leonheart added one goal as the Lyons won their season opener at home, Saturday.

Amanda Manaster made nine saves in the win.

Smith College 3, New Paltz 2 — Zufan Bazzano scored twice, while Aisling Keane added one goal as the Pioneers (1-1) won at home, Sunday.

Carlton 2, Smith College 0 — Naomi Falkenberg made three saves, but the Pioneers fell at home on Saturday.

Field Hockey

UMass 3, Vermont 1 — Georgie McTear had a goal and an assist, while Antonet Louw added two goals as the Minutewomen (2-1) won on the road, Sunday.

Freshman Johanna von dem Borne made four saves to preserve the victory.

Cortland 4, Smith College 1 — Beatrice Chaudoin gave the Pioneers (1-1) an early lead that didn’t last, Sunday at home.

Smith College 5, Maine-Farmington 1 — Maddie Ryan, Bryn Murray, Emily Biggs, Sammie Pavlov and Morgan Handwerger scored consecutive goals as the Pioneers overcame an early deficit at home, Saturday.

Women’s volleyball

Framingham State 3, Smith 0 — Anna Lynch had 30 digs, while Helena Wiatrowski added 14, but the Pioneers (0-2) fell 25-23, 26-24, 25-13 Saturday in Wenham.

Neumann 3, Smith 0 — Caleigh Johnson had nine kills and Kimani Freeman 16 assists for the Pioneers (0-3), who fell 25-15, 25-14, 25-16 Saturday in Wenham.
