The Tigers were furious at him, Koske said. They didn’t want to chat at match point Wednesday.

But they finished off the point and a 25-17, 25-13, 27-25 sweep to open the season with a home win.

Julia Pratt sent over seven ace. Aislinn Ford added five kills and three aces. Kayla Roy had four aces and four assists for South Hadley (1-0).

Frontier Regional 3, Chicopee Comp 0 — Lauren Davenport led the way with 10 kills, and the Red Hawks won their season opener 25-12, 25-16, 25-18.

Olivia Deane and Reilly Isler each added six digs, while Elizabeth Fuqua passed out 15 assists.

Ashley Telega had five kills for Frontier (1-0).

Westfield 3, Amherst Regional 0 — Jen Hodgkins dug 10 attacks, but the Hurricanes fell in their opener 25-14, 25-23, 25-14.

Olivia Hogans added six kills, and Julia Feldman (five digs) had four.

Amelia Beigel added 15 assists.

Mahar 3, Belchertown 0 — Madison Mallalieu had 10 assists, but the Orioles had as many errors as kills in a 25-19, 25-19, 26-24 loss.

Marissa Courchesne led the way with five kills and four aces.
