Summer Molin headed home a corner kick in the 18th minute of the second half, as the Granby girls soccer team beat Belchertown for the first time in seven years, 1-0 on Tuesday.

Nora Young had the assist on the corner for Granby (1-0).

Julia Gauvin back stopped a strong defense with 11 saves in the shutout.

Julia Jimenez made 10 saves for the Orioles (0-1).

Smith Academy 3, McCann Tech 1 — Maggie Hession scored twice, while Story Goldman added a goal and an assist, as the Falcons (1-0) won their home opener.

Madelyn Bell made three saves and got a lot of help from the defense in front of her. Center Morgan Neal stopped a shot in the open goal during the second half that would have tied the game at 2.

Easthampton 3, Hopkins 1 — Rosie Pagnoni played a part in all three goals, scoring one and assisting the other two in a season-opening home win at Nonotuck Park.

Malia Sands and Frances Powers also found the net. Lili Pioli only had to make two saves for Easthampton (1-0, 1-0 Pioneer North) with minimal traffic in front of her.

Samantha Jenks scored from a free kick for Hopkins (0-1, 0-1).

South Hadley 6, Mahar 1 — Reese Carey scored twice, while Paige Marjanski and Sydney Mercier added a goal and an assist each to open the Tigers’ Division 3 title defense with a home win

Olivia Blaney and Lindsay Marjanski also found the net, while Anna Evans and Teagan Gawron had assists. Bridget Sears made five saves for South Hadley (1-0).

Gateway Regional 4, Athol 0 — Erin Harris scored twice in the first half and assisted on a third goal in the second half, as the Gators opened the season with a win.

Becca Hyjek scored 22 minutes into the game from Hannah Duggan.

Ava Auclair assisted Harris’ first goal, while the second assist came from Nina Iglesias. She won the ball in her defensive half and sent it 35 yards to Harris, who finished it for a 3-0 lead.

Peyton Bucko scored from Harris with 10 minute left for Gateway (1-0, 1-0 Pioneer North).

Keeper Becca Herman didn’t need to make any saves, but she caught several crosses. Iglesias, Hannah Coffey, Charlotte Kazalski and Angela Wright kept the pressure off Herman in Gateway’s defensive diamond.

Frontier Regional 3, Pope Francis 1 — Natalie Denkiewicz had a goal and an assist in a road win. Cambrie Hamilton and Siomara Green also found the net. Green made seven saves, as well.

Jenna Martin and Grace O’Leary had assists for Frontier (1-0, 1-0 Pioneer North).

Sabis 3, Smith Vocational 1 — Madeline Weinstein scored form Karlie Petlock, but the Vikings fell on the road in their opener. Lizzy Hardy turned aside 13 shots for Smith Vocational (0-1).

Northampton 2, East Longmeadow 2 — Mary Green tied the game with seven minutes left. She beat the Spartans’ keeper 1-on-1 after a through ball from Brigitte Goeler-Slough, who got the assist.

The Blue Devils (0-0-1) trailed 1-0 at halftime, but Peyton Pettiford-Rowan equalized off a corner that Caroline Tanner sent in for the assist.

Sydney Lewandowski stopped 15 shots.
